Hawke’s Bay, on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, is actually New Zealand’s oldest wine region with a history beginning as early as 1851. The area has a temperate climate, and being one of New Zealand’s warmest and driest regions it is perfect for producing the award winning wines it is famous for. Hawke’s Bay is known predominately for Bordeaux style reds, Chardonnay and the famed Gimblett Gravels.
