We had two days to explore some of Brisbane’s exciting street art. Such an abundance of art adorns the streets of Brisbane that it is impossible to see all of it in two days, but we did try our best. A good deal of the art has been created in conjunction with street art projects such as the Brisbane Street Art Festival, the Pillars Project, and Artforce Traffic Signal Boxes.
From where we were staying at the Meriton Suites, it was easy to walk around the CBD, South Bank and West End to explore these areas. Further afield, there is spectacular art in places such as Fortitude Valley and New Farm.
From 2014 many concrete pillars of the Merivale Bridge were painted by influential Australian artists, many of whom have become internationally renowned street artists.
There are eleven large-scale murals from the Riverside Drive pathway to Hope Street, beneath the South Brisbane Rail Overpass.

We stayed at Meriton Suites Herschel Street
Pros – So good we booked for an extra night. The location made it very easy to walk to the mall, restaurant, bar, etc., and South Brisbane and the West End. The bed was super comfortable. Kitchen well equipt, bathroom large, plenty of space to store luggage. Comfortable large suite.
Cons – I would have loved a couple of cushions on the lounge for comfort.
Verdict – We would stay here again. We liked the location and the comfort of the kitchen, dining and living room, as well as a very comfortable bed.
