This delicious gooey brie is easy and quick to make. With only four simple ingredients, this baked brie can be made from start to finish in 15 minutes and looks delectable too.
It is a fabulous starter for dinner parties, happy hour, or with fellow sailors on the beach for sundowners!
Can I use camembert instead?
Brie and camembert are very similar, so swapping one out for the other is fine.
Ingredients
250g Brie
1/3 cup Quince jam (or to your liking).
1/3 cup of pecans, roasted and roughly chopped
Sprigs of fresh thyme
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Remove the brie from the packaging and place it on the tray. Score the top of the brie with a sharp knife in a crisscross pattern.
Bake (10-15 minutes) until it is soft, the centre is melty, and it begins to ooze. Using the baking paper, transfer the brie to a serving platter or dish.
Top with quince jam*, pecans and sprigs of thyme.
Serve immediately with crispy toast, crackers or crusty bread.
*You can also heat the jam if you prefer. If your quince jam is firm or you only have quince paste, gently heat the jam with a few tablespoons of wine (red or white) or water. Heat gently until runnier, and pour over the hot brie.
